One of my favorite songs is Purple Rain, by none other than Prince. We lost that man, that talented artist today. He will be sorely missed by many. RIP, sweet Prince.
What is your fondest memory of Prince? Did you all know how awesme he was on that guitar? Let me share, as I did not even realize it. He really kicks in at about 3.5 mins. Then... take a good look at the young man on guitar next to Tom Petty.. I was totally freaked... this is a tribute to George Harrison, and for a moment, I thought , OMG he is playing a guitar next to Petty, how is this possible? Yeah, you are all probably smarter than I am... George's son Dhani Harrison, his CLONE!
Go on, gloat a lil bit, especially since his name is right there in the initial credits... go on, it's ok.
Recently my step son, who has been desperately trying to regain custody of his 2 little girls, age 3 and 8, was given the good news he has won. We have been helping him find a good place of his own for his family to call home, and that will meet the standards set by the Dept of Children and Families, and the courts. Now to furnish it and populate it with food , beds, living room necessities, kitchen utensils, etc was to be a challenge on a limited budget.
Ahhh, but, for the kindness of strangers. I posted a " want" ad on two of my local " garage sales" on Facebook, that I am looking for these items at a reasonable price, and why. I stated that we are not looking for a hand out, but, need a leg up.
The ensuing support from those " neighbors" had me moved to tears in just a few hours. Offers of furniture, children's toys and clothing, and tips for where to find assistance from our charities nearby have overwhelmed my heart!
He was 'gifted" a dining room table and four chairs, a nice couch with 2 recliners, a TV and TV stand, and I was able to purchase a NICE bunk bed, complete with built in shelving and drawers, the mattresses, and even sheets at a much reduced price over the original asking price. People are donating food and kitchen necessities.. and even those that have little, are offering much.
My heart is so full of gratitude, by the shear number of awesome, generous people in my area.. and renews my faith in humanity. Paying it foward, and giving is not dead! Good hearts and generosity of spirit.. all I can say is wow, and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
We are getting 2 of our grand babies back! We are blessed!! Thank you, Thank you! Thank YOU!
